Could you please explain to me this tennis draw?

Some1 told me contrary to Asdf about the #'s after the names and it was a tennis pro. This doesn't mean he was correct but what he said that it is their seeding and it was where the finished in that tournament the prior year. So if they won the previous tournament, they would be seeded (1).
