Burton is not a good brand. If you want the best quality in a board, buy a Gnu or a Lib-Tech. You only need a wide board if you wear a size 12 or larger shoe. The only shaped boards in snowboarding are racing boards--they only have one nose and are flat in the tail. The length of the board depends on your ability and the part of the mountain you ride on. Longer boards are usually faster but harder to control.
